Vocational Assessor / Verifier

The Durham Assessment Centre team understand the importance of having a sound infrastructure for success in NVQs.

With this in mind we recommend that there be assessor(s) within the workplace. We do offer an assessment service for those workplaces that do not have assessors, but we recommend that assessor training runs very well alongside a candidate’s NVQ; whereby the assessor-candidate supports and assists their NVQ candidate; from this they are able to gather evidence to put forward for their own award.

Full support is available for an assessor-candidate as it is for any other candidate of the centre. An assessor-candidate or verifier-candidate would be allocated a specialist Co-ordinator to support them through their Award.

The Learning and Development Lead Body provides Assessor and Verifier awards. These awards have changed from the D32/D33 to the A1/A2 units for assessors, and the D34 to V1 unit for verifiers.

Over 18 month time span: 2 Days Assessor Training, 1 Day Recall Session, Assessing NVQ Candidates and 2 half day TDLB Sessions inc. Portfolio Building
